About This Opportunity
Makkala Jagriti is a leading Bangalore-based NGO that started in 2003 with a mission to empower children and youth from marginalized communities through holistic learning. Their work transforms barriers to education and personal development, using safe spaces, schools, Anganwadis, and youth centers. Their multi-faceted programs address poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment, with a reach of over 80,000 beneficiaries. They collaborate with government, parents, educators, and volunteers to foster empowered, confident youth ready for higher education and mainstream opportunities.
What We Do
- Workshops for life skills, spoken English, art, and sports (including Taekwondo)
- Maker’s Space, Toy Library, and creative assemblies in schools
- Leadership programs, democracy education, parent workshops, and youth career guidance
- Meetups and community events at Yuva Cafés and Anganwadi centers
- Regular story show activities throughout the year
