About This Community
Queer Nilayam is a government-registered non-profit founded in 2021 by five queer individuals in Hyderabad, now operating in Bangalore. It was created to offer safe, supportive spaces for LGBTQIA+ persons, combat inequality and discrimination, and foster art, culture, and community. The group conducts both weekly online and offline meetings for discussing emotional, social, and health topics, along with support circles, donation drives, sensitization programs, and rescues. Their impact spans over 10,000+ queer individuals in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. They stay community-driven and unfunded, focusing on solidarity, empowerment, and inclusion for all who need it.
