About This Community
Payana Bengaluru is a community-led organization dedicated to uplifting and supporting sexuality minorities (LGBTQIA++ community) in Bengaluru and across Karnataka. Established in 2009 by LGBTQIA++ leaders, Payana addresses social stigma, discrimination, and works for equality through advocacy, education, support, and fostering a safe space. Its mission is to mobilize individuals across various sexual identities and backgrounds, build community strength, and create harmony and awareness in broader society. Payana works particularly with those from poor socio-economic backgrounds and aims to bring the community into the mainstream, raising awareness about the challenges and strengths of sexuality minorities.
