About This Community
Maraa is a media and arts collective founded in Bangalore in 2008. It’s diverse, inter-sectional, and playful. Their work addresses issues of caste, labor, gender, and culture, employing lenses such as freedom of expression, oral histories, and creative production. Maraa facilitates dialogue, research, production, workshops, and curates events to democratize use of public spaces and deepen rights-based campaigns. Their practice is people-centric, focused on strengthening plural narratives through the arts and media. The collective is for anyone interested in culture, creativity, justice, or collaborative practice.
